Dedication leads to great achievements

Samantha Lee Vivian, or Sammy for short, is avidly involved in Londonderry High School’s journalism program where she dedicates herself to the monthly paper.
When Vivian is not busy with her job at Shaw’s, babysitting, or playing on her softball team, she can often be found in her school’s journalism room, editing and preparing stories for the forty-page Lancer Spirit.
She has been with the paper since she was a sophomore and since then Vivian has progressed from being a field reporter to the travel section, and is now head of the Clubs and Organization section. “It’s my life,” Vivian said, with a smile on her face. She is so dedicated to her school’s newspaper that some nights she works on it until as late as 10 o’clock.
Vivian has many friends working on the Lancer Spirit with her. Once in a while the journalism buddies even order out for a pizza when they have another long night of editing ahead of them.
Starting this school year, younger students will be allowed to hold higher positions within the journalism class, Vivian said that accepting the younger students will be awkward at first but will get easier as the year goes on; however, she is looking forward to the additions of the new members.
Vivian is coming into her senior year of high school.
