Lauren Fox attends Presidency and the Press

Lauren Fox is rising junior with a growing passion for communications. She first became interested in communications through the HOBY leadership conference, which was introduced to her through her high school. The conference really focused in on being a leader in the students’ communities, and leadership skills for life.  It was during that time that Fox began meeting new students, with a clear passion for different topics.  “It was fun getting to see other students be so passionate about a certain subject”. After the conference she began to focus in on communications and journalism through the Presidency and the Press conference and plans to further herself in the area through school courses as well.  

Lauren has always enjoyed the role of the performer, whether it is for chorus or a play, singing and acting have always been among her interests. However, Fox also enjoyed the more professional lifestyle. Communications and journalism became a fantastic outlook for both her creative side and professional sides. Fox would be happy with either hard core journalism or simply entertainment news for a television station. As long as there’s a city outside her door, she’s ready and willing to do just about anything. Traveling has also become a big part as to why Lauren chose communications. “I don’t do a lot of traveling currently”, says Fox, but she looks forward to visiting many exotic places such as Australia and Europe.  For Lauren, the sky’s the limit, and she is excited to get out there and try it all.
