While involved in student council and attending a journalism class, small town girl Katie Silverman is on her way to accomplishing her dreams.

Silverman is a student attending the school Pinkerton Academy in Derry, her hometown.  Silverman is very involved with the school’s student council.  At Pinkerton Academy, it is an honor to be on the student council.  Not every student can join; the council is only open to students who win the position through elections.

Silverman said, “I enjoy being on the student council because I have opportunities to help the community.  We work together putting together homecoming, pep-rally’s, and helping out in our community. “  Silverman is also very interested in writing.  The past year Silverman took the Intro to Journalism class and really enjoyed it.  “I am excited to take Journalism 1 my senior year,” enthused Silverman.  Because of this joy for writing, Silverman is also considering majoring in writing when she goes off to college.

While majoring in writing, Silverman also wants to attend college in a city.  Silverman mentioned, “I have lived in a small town my whole life and I am ready to go experience something different like city life.”  Silverman mentioned that she is interested in attending Northeastern University in Massachusetts.

Outside of attending college, Silverman’s other dream has always been to travel the world. Silverman said that the only place she has ever gone has been Disney in Florida, so she is hunger for adventure.  Silverman said, “I would really love to go to Paris and Italy, it sounds like such an adventure.”  Silverman said that the only place she has ever gone has been Disney in Florida, so she is hunger for adventure.
