Incoming Fitzwater Scholars anticipate upcoming academic year

Four of eleven Presidency and the Press members hold a special connection to Franklin Pierce University. Each earned Fitzwater scholarships that required skill, understanding of political journalism fields, and communication.

Thomas Dynan, a Fitzwater Scholar, expressed his anticipation of becoming a Franklin Pierce Raven.

“I was very impressed with the program and how it was career oriented,” said Dynan. “It definitely opened my eyes to different fields.”

Dynan was one of eleven students who participated in the Presidency and the Press program for hopeful journalists.

“I’d say (Franklin Pierce) is my ideal school,” said Dynan.

Another incoming freshman who is also a Fitzwater Scholar, Austin Christopher, described how the Presidency and the Press has motivated him for the fall.

Christopher said, “The experience showed me how intersesting journalism is and how it could broaden a future with mass communications involved.”

All four scholars developed their interests through Presidency and the Press.
