Jacob Jaehne sinks his teeth into the Presidency and the Press
by Hanna Lundgren
Jacob Jaehne of Londonderry High School arrived on Sunday with his love for the journalism world and his eagerness to begin the Presidency and the Press conference at
Franklin Pierce University.
Although the stress of the journalism world does not attract Jaehne for a possible profession, he enjoys the process of portraying truth through his writing and interviewing people and making friends and connections.
In June, Jaehne spoke with his journalism teacher/advisor Mary Lukas-Dewinkeleer who told him about this opportunity to attend the Presidency and the Press. Full of excitement, Jaehne signed up for the conference and told his fellow editors Emily Casey and Hanna Lundgren about the wonderful opportunity.
Jaehne said, “You can’t find a closer relation than a paper staff. They go through so many trials and hard times together.”
His love for journalism has showcased throughout his work at the Presidency and the Press conference this year. Jaehne is determined in every article he has written and does not hesitate to ask questions to the distinguished guests affiliated with the conference.
This conference has allowed not only Jaehne but all of the participants to prepare for the demands of journalism and stretch their legs in the reporting world. Jaehne thoroughly enjoyed his visit to New Hampshire’s State House and believed it was a wonderful opportunity offered by the conference.
Jaehne along with his fellow editors credits their Journalism teacher and Newspaper advisor Mary Dewinkeleer for the opportunities that the Presidency and the Press has offered them. This has set Jaehne and the others apart from other high school reporters and has been the next stop on their road to success.
